“Welcome!” Over the next few weeks, we at BFC will have the opportunity to be welcoming in a variety of ways. This Saturday, we will “welcome” children and their families from our wider community to our first Messy Church of the year. Then, next Thursday we will have our first Bible Study “The Bible, Sexuality, and the Methodist Church” in which we will learn and explore what our scriptures say about welcoming folks of all kinds. Living up to our statement: “No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here!”

Messy Church Volunteer Opportunities

“The Bible, Sexuality, and the Methodist Church” developed by Rev. Rob Fuquay, a UMC Minister in Indianapolis. The study will be presented both “in-person” in the Education Wing, and on Zoom and will be facilitated by Mary van Tol and myself. This study will provide a firm foundation in the word of scripture about the issues of becoming Open and Affirming to people of all sexual orientations and identities. Please be sure to mark your calendars and plan to attend.

Volunteer Appreciation!

In a nutshell Donna is always willing to help out wherever and whenever needed. A few ways Donna has served her church community over many years are:

As a Sunday school teacher, member of our cleaning crew, an avid baker (her pecan pies have been requested at our pie sales). Donna has supported all events and fund raisers held here by sharing her time and talents. Most recently Donna has served on the leadership team and committees to help move our church forward. She was active in the search for an interim pastor. She volunteers for Messy Church, showing her love for children and assists our Pastor to serve communion and so much more.

Addison County CROP Hunger Walk

Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023, Noon on the Middlebury Town Green

CROP Hunger Walks are community-based walk fundraising events held in cities and towns across the United States, created to support the global mission of Church World Service, a faith-based organization transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster. After a CROP Hunger Walk ends, 25% of the funds raised is returned to the host community to support local hunger fighting efforts.
