Sweet Communion!
“Yet she on earth hath union
with God the Three in One,
and mystic sweet communion
with those whose rest is won;
O happy ones and holy!
Lord give us grace that we,
like them, the meek and lowly,
on high may dwell with Thee.”

When Jesus, the “Word become Flesh,” lived upon this world, he would eat in communion with anyone he met, eating and sharing whatever was available as their food: bread, fish, fruit, nuts, whatever.
I believe that if the man Jesus were to live among us, he would eat with us, and share communion with us with what ever was available to us for food.
At this time of year in Vermont, that might be waffles and maple syrup!
And so , this Sunday’s sharing of the "Lord’s Supper” will be an especially Sweet Communion. Instead of bread and juice, we will share waffles and maple syrup! And we will experience the presence of Christ in them.
Then, we will enjoy a Waffle Brunch after worship.
