“Let love be genuine; hate what is evil; hold fast to what is good; love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor. Do not lag in zeal; be ardent in spirit; serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; persevere in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints; pursue hospitality to strangers.” Romans 12:9-13 Dear Friends, These are words to live by! We should read them as if the Apostle Paul were writing directly to us, Bristol Federated Church, and not the early church of Rome. They are the daily challenge of living a Christian life! While they are easy to read, they are difficult to put into action. But try we must, and when we come to end of each day, rest peacefully in the knowledge that we have done our best, and tomorrow, through the grace and forgiveness of God, we are given the new chance to get up and try again…to serve God with gladness! This Sunday we will gather to bless Jennifer and give thanks for her service to God in the Bristol Federated Church. We will have a time in worship to recognize and bless her.
